We welcome you to the charming, historic, Bald Hill Cemetery. Established in 1850, the Cemetery holds many stories. It initially adjoined a church, since moved from the site. It is now unaffiliated with any religion and welcomes the entire community.
Located at 825 Ridgefield Road, Bald Hill Cemetery is on the west side of the road just to the south of the intersections of Ridgefield Road with Millstone Road and with Ruscoe Road. The Cemetery’s name derives from the historic name of this area of Wilton, called “Bald Hill” after the local geologic feature.
The Cemetery is the final resting place for family members of those who historically owned property, built houses, and lived in Bald Hill. It is the final resting place for 50 veterans that fought in seven of this nation’s wars, including six from the civil war. The first person buried here was Fanny Gray who died in 1856. The Cemetery has been operated by volunteers as the Bald Hill Cemetery Association since 1922.
